All skill levels are encouraged to join us as we prayerfully create knitted or crocheted shawls to offer comfort to anyone with a physical, emotional or spiritual need.
The shawls provide both physical warmth and a tangible expression of God’s love
as well as the support of the SFA community.
When you receive a prayer shawl, you receive the collective prayers of the Prayer Shawl Ministry asking God to surround you with His care, comfort and loving presence.
You do not need to be a parishioner to receive a prayer shawl.
We also make hats, scarves and gloves for the annual Parish Giving Tree for NNEMAP
and baby blankets for new parents.
Our Prayer Shawl Ministry meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 5:00 p.m.,
currently via Zoom. You may join in as frequently as your schedule allows.
Don't knit or crochet? We also welcome parishioners who can lead us in prayer while we knit!
This helps us prayerfully focus on both the work of our hands and the people for whom
our items will provide comfort.
If you would like to join the group or would like to receive a prayer shawl
(or know someone who could benefit from one), contact:
Sandy Glasner at smglasner@gmail.com
or
Lorri Kuczynski at lorrik09@gmail.com
If you knit or crochet but cannot attend our meetings, and would still like
to make and donate items, simply contact Sandy or Lorri
to arrange a time to drop off your items at the church.
We also gratefully accept donations of machine washable yarn.
