For infant Baptism, please contact Sue Cruickshank at sue@cruickshank.us to register for the workshop. Workshops are held on the third Sunday of each month. Baptisms are typically held on the first Sunday of each month, during the 11:00 AM Mass. Baptisms for nonparishioners, are typically held on Saturday. Workshop attendance is required for all Baptisms.
Confession is regularly held on Friday from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Come up the center aisle of the church to the altar. Turn left and have a seat in one of the pews on the side. Fr. Fritz will come out of the confession room to let you know he is free.
First Communion takes place annually in the spring, on the 4th Sunday of Easter. Notices are placed in the bulletin several months in advance notifying parents of exact dates. First Communion preparations are held after the 11:00 AM Mass, from 12:30 - 2:00 pm, for 10 sessions, beginning in January. For more information please contact the office.
CONFIRMATION
Confirmation for 7th and 8th grade students will take place every other year, on even years. Preparations will begin in January and run through late April, for aproximalety 18 weeks. A retreat to Maria Stein Shrine of the Holy Relics is included in the preparations. Because St. Fancis of Assisi, generally has few children preparing for the Sacrament, Confirmation will be combined with another parish. For more inforamation, please contact the office. 614-299-5781
Please contact the parish office at 614-299-5781 at least six months prior to the anticipated wedding date to look at our calendar and select your wedding date to coincide with your reception date and time.. When we receive your depost, you will have locked in the date and time of your wedding.
Then you will be referred to our Wedding Coordinator – Melissa Hornik, sfacolumbusweddings@gmail.com who will help you with fulfilling the necessary marriage preparation program. and will provide you with the details and deadlines.
You do not have to be a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. If you have a favorite priest or deacon that you would like to perform your ceremony, that's fine with us. We generally schedule our weddings on a Saturday at either 1:00 pm or 1:30 pm or 4:00 pm or 4:30 pm., but we can also accomodate a ceremony on another day. You will have a Wedding Hostess at your rehearsal and ceremony to make sure that everything goes smoothly. We have a lovely Parish Hall with a full kitchen that can be rented for your rehearsal dinner or your wedding reception.
All who are experiencing serious illness should request the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick .
